Friendly in Wiesbaden: Here’s Bayern’s starting lineup for the new season | OneFootball

FC Bayern began preseason training for the new season just a few days ago, and already their first test match is on the schedule. Today, Saturday, the record champions will face SV Wehen Wiesbaden. 

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m., marking the 100th anniversary of the club from Hesse. The third-division side aims to challenge Bayern and is already significantly further along in its preseason preparations than FCB.

Bayern is traveling without many players from the first team, as many of them are still on special leave following the World Cup. Only players like Tom Bischof and Arijon Ibrahimovic are in the lineup,

Here’s how FC Bayern will line up in Wiesbaden

There was great anticipation about how FC Bayern would line up for their first preseason match in Wiesbaden. It was already clear beforehand that many young players would bolster the roster. Yet some questions remained: Will any of the players slated to be traded play? And how many pros will be on the field right from the start?

These very questions have now been answered, as Bayern’s first lineup for the new season is here!

Vincent Kompany isn’t starting a single established player. Sven Ulreich, Joao Palhinha, Tom Bischof, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Sacha Boey, and Armindo Sieb are all on the bench. Instead, it’s all about the young guns!

Among others, Richard Ajayi, a left back from Bayern’s youth academy, will start the game. The 16-year-old wants to prove himself and make a good impression. The best-known name in the starting lineup is certainly Guido Della Rovere, the 19-year-old who was most recently linked to a move to Italy. However, nothing concrete has materialized yet regarding him.

Bastian Assomo, who is highly regarded in Munich, starts up front. As the game progresses, it’s quite possible that one or two established players will also enter the fray.
