Brighton & Hove Albion looked set to take all three points, but Fulham showed plenty of fight to snatch a late 1-1 draw at the AMEX Stadium.
The game got off to a flying start, with Brighton seemingly taking the lead in the fourth minute when Yankuba Minteh found the net, only for the effort to be chalked off by VAR for a foul in the build-up.
Despite Brighton’s bright opening under Fabian Hürzeler, the first half fizzled out without further clear-cut chances, and the teams went in level at 0-0, leaving plenty of tension for the second half.
Brighton eventually broke the deadlock when Matt O’Riley calmly converted a penalty, sending Bernard Leno the wrong way. The hosts looked comfortable, but Fulham refused to give up.
Marco Silva brought on several substitutes in search of an equaliser, and they were rewarded deep into stoppage time. In the 96th minute, Rodrigo Muniz rose at the far post from a corner and fired home with his left foot, sparking a dramatic late celebration.
Brighton will rue missed opportunities, while Fulham can take heart from their never-say-die attitude and a point earned at the death.
