Paris Saint-Germain, Stade Brestois, and AS Monaco have discovered their opponents for the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League.
PSG, having finished the league phase with back-to-back wins, were guaranteed to face a Ligue 1 rival. It was between Monaco and Brest, who both concluded their league phase with defeats to Inter Milan and Real Madrid respectively. Neither side were keen to face Les Parisiens with Brest’s Pierre Lees-Melou and Monaco’s Breel Embolo publically stating as much.
The draw took place on Friday and PSG have drawn Les Ty-Zéfs. Monaco will face Benfica. The two sides have already faced each other this season in the Champions League. Benfica won at the Stade Louis II (3-2) in November in a match dominated by controversial refereeing decisions.
The first legs will be played on 11th/12th February with the return legs being played one week later.
