Gabigol leaves out Neymar when naming his best team-mates | OneFootball

Gabriel Barbosa will have some explaining to do at a family lunch after leaving out Neymar when naming the best he has played with.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Romário asked the striker to pick his top XI and Gabigol opted for a full 2019 Flamengo side. He chose Diego Alves in goal, a defence of Rafinha, Pablo Marí, Rodrigo Caio and Filipe Luís, a midfield of Willian Arão, Gerson and Arrascaeta, and a front line of Éverton Ribeiro, Bruno Henrique and himself.

Gabigol has played alongside Neymar. He made his Santos debut in the same match Neymar bid farewell to Brazilian football in 2013, and the pair were Brazil team-mates at the Olympics, World Cup qualifiers and Copa América.

He also selected Jorge Jesus as manager, with that group underpinning one of the best years of his career. Gabigol won the Libertadores and the Brasileirão, finishing top scorer in both competitions.

Despite those honours at Flamengo, he later moved to Cruzeiro and struggled in his first season. He is now on loan at Santos, where he is reunited with his brother-in-law Neymar.
