Gabriel Paulista takes number three shirt at Corinthians | OneFootball

Gabriel Paulista has swapped 20 for number three at Corinthians, the club said in a social media post. The number three is regarded as a significant, traditional starting shirt within the old one to 11.

The shirt became vacant after Ecuadorian defender Félix Torres was loaned to Internacional last week, a deal running until the end of the current season.

Paulista joined Corinthians at the start of the year after terminating his contract with Besiktas in Türkiye. A Corinthians fan, the centre-back waived some money to sign a deal through December 2027.

Before his spell in Türkiye, he played for Villarreal, Arsenal, Valencia and Atlético de Madrid, and earlier for Vitória and Taboão da Serra in Brazil.

At Corinthians he has been behind Gustavo Henrique and André Ramalho, featuring only once this season, the 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Bragantino in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista. Dorival Júnior also has João Pedro Tchoca and Cacá available there, plus the sidelined Renato.
