The sticking point in earlier transfer talks was the structure of the deal, as Galatasaray had earlier preferred a loan arrangement, while Spurs were holding out for a permanent transfer.

Bissouma has had a turbulent spell in London since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion for around £25 million in 2022.

While he has shown flashes of quality, the 28-year-old Malian midfielder has struggled for consistent opportunities under multiple managers.

Disciplinary issues, including repeated lateness, have further complicated his standing at the club, leading to his exclusion from matchday squads.

New manager Thomas Frank has sidelined Bissouma, and he is well down the pecking order.

Despite interest from city rivals Fenerbahce, Galatasaray have emerged as the front-runners to secure his services. Bissouma has given the green light to the move,

Having signed Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane this summer, Galatasaray have been active in the transfer market and could still complete more business.

They are set to sign Wilfred Singo from Monaco, and remain in discussions with Manchester City over deals for Ederson and Manuel Akanji.
