Galatasaray ‘to abandon’ Sacha Boey permanent move as quota blocks Bayern sale | OneFootball

Bayern Munich have so far been unable to move on Sacha Boey this summer, with a permanent return to Galatasaray collapsing due to Süper Lig squad rules.

Bild claims Galatasaray were ready to pay between €10 million and €15 million, but the foreign player rule left only one overseas slot. With that place reserved for another position, the champions of Türkiye opted against signing the right-back.

Boey reported back to Bavaria following his loan in Istanbul, his comeback not driven by a lack of interest from Galatasaray but by regulation.

Bayern’s sport board member Max Eberl has said the club are open to sales for Boey, Bryan Zaragoza and Joao Palhinha. He added that the trio have no future at the club and that staying would be tough and complicated for anyone who chose to remain, with only a minor role likely.

Boey rejoined Bayern from Galatasaray in January 2024 for around €30 million but never established himself. He has played 38 competitive games, scoring once and providing six assists, and is contracted until 2028. For now, no transfer appears imminent.
