Galatasaray are reportedly weighing up a move for Kevin De Bruyne as the Napoli playmaker grows increasingly disillusioned during the current transfer window.
According to Goal.com, the Istanbul club are preparing a significant proposal, with the 35-year-old's frustration over the sporting direction in Naples seen as a chance to tempt him to Türkiye.
De Bruyne joined on a free after leaving Manchester City. His first Serie A season proved inconsistent and fractious, limited to 21 appearances in all competitions, though he still delivered five goals and four assists.
Much of the discord stemmed from a tactical mismatch under Antonio Conte, whose defensive approach he criticised as ill-suited to him and to a 5-4-1 geared around narrow wins. He later said he was relieved when Conte departed.
Sporting director Giovanni Manna said the club did not appreciate some comments, yet underlined that De Bruyne remains under contract and is expected to meet his obligations. He added it was not for the player to decide his exit, and that he would be at the coach's disposal like others.
Napoli now move into the Massimiliano Allegri era, with a meeting scheduled at the start of pre-season to discuss the midfielder's role. With Galatasaray circling, the club must weigh the financial and dressing-room risk of keeping an unhappy veteran.
