Alejandro Garnacho has started the campaign in the most prolific form of his career thus far – despite having to navigate cameos off the bench on numerous occasions.

Indeed, the Manchester United livewire is improving all aspects of his game significantly and growing in confidence with each passing season.

The way he plays without fear on the ball is undoubtedly what sets him aside from his counterparts; Garnacho is willing to take risks and go full throttle, even if it sometimes results in him being dispossessed or chances going astray.

Such patience and determination have paid off, though, as he boasts an incredible six goals and four assists in just 255 minutes worth of action (all competitions) this season.

Last night, when the Reds ran riot with a 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley, Garnacho netted twice and contributed two assists across his 84 minutes on the turf in an all-round stellar display from the 20-year-old – and the whole squad.

Why Garnacho celebrated the way he did

After his first goal, he again recreated – having also done so vs Southampton last Saturday – the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo-esque celebration of sitting on the advertising boards behind the goal.

Casemiro also reeled off to applaud his teammate but stood and watched on while the youngster posed in front of the Old Trafford faithful.

Fans were quick to question why the veteran hadn’t got involved, but Garnacho’s younger brother, Roberto, has since explained why on Twitter/X.

“Because it’s 3-0 against a League One team,” he remarked. “He didn’t want to celebrate like that, but I told him to do the celebration anyway.”
