Gasperini calls Freuler ahead of free agency

Gian Piero Gasperini is eyeing the summer transfer window and considering a well-known name: Remo Freuler.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, the Roma coach has personally contacted the Swiss midfielder from Bologna to explore his availability for a possible free transfer to the capital in June 2026, when the former Atalanta player’s contract with Bologna expires.

At the moment, however, there are no concrete offers from the player, who is happy in Bologna and is negotiating a contract renewal with the Rossoblu.

Freuler has become a key figure in Vincenzo Italiano’s midfield, and the Emilian club has already initiated initial discussions to extend his contract beyond the current deadline.
