Gasperini on Roma’s project: “It fills me with enthusiasm.” | OneFootball

Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to Sky Sport ahead of the start of the season.

The Italian technician spoke from Roma’s training camp in England.

“It’s been a month since we started. We’ve already accomplished a lot together. The key objective is to gain credibility and make the fans happy. I hope the time it takes will be as short as possible.”

On Roma’s transfer market, “We need to look at what has been done so far: all the young guys who have already had important experiences have arrived.”

“The project they initially proposed to me filled me with great enthusiasm. When you approach a different type of market, they may have different costs, a different age, and in the long run, they may be less effective. This is the strong motivation that made me say, “If I can do this in Rome too, it would be extraordinary.” The decision to come here was made during my last game with Atalanta.”

On Dybala-Soulé coexistence: “Both players can coexist: it’s true that both are left-footed, but when one has the qualities he can play anywhere.”

“The captain’s armband? Everyone can do it. In a team there must always be more potential captains and to do so they must have the requirements.”

“We’d all like to have a competitive and immediately cohesive team, but I can’t promise that. This is clearly the goal, but the team’s playing spirit is also crucial.”
