Gavi dreams of success with Barcelona after renewal – ‘Hope we can win many titles’ | OneFootball

It is a day to remember for FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi as he signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2030.

Having left his injury woes behind him, the 20-year-old has again become an important player for the team and has now committed to the Catalan outfit for the next five years at the very least.

Gavi happy after renewal

Speaking to the club media (h/t SPORT) after his renewal, Gavi expressed his joy and excitement at having signed a new contract.

“This could be one of the happiest days of my life. I am very happy and very pleased to continue at the club of my life, and I hope it is for many more years,” he said, full of satisfaction.

The young midfielder also took a moment to express his gratitude for the support he has received from the club’s leadership, which played a crucial role in keeping him at Barcelona.

“Both the president, Deco, and Bojan have always believed in me, and they have shown me that,” he admitted.

At Barcelona, the foundations are being laid for a project that should bring many joys, with the renewal of young players already established in the elite.

Prior to Gavi’s contract renewal, Barcelona tied down Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and Gerard Martin and are expected to tie down Lamine Yamal to a new deal as well.

“We have a team with a lot of future, and I hope we can win many titles,” Gavi wished.

“What we are doing is also a reflection for those in La Masia now, seeing that many young players have made it to the first team and that they can also pursue this dream,” he added.

On a personal level, Gavi is fully motivated and hopes to maintain his current form having put his injury ordeal in the rear view.

“First of all, I want to finish the season without any injuries because I’ve been out for a long time, and for me, this season was about regaining my rhythm. With my mentality, I have come back even better than before, and I hope to continue this way until the end.”

Finally, he asked Barcelona’s supporters: “Trust in us. We are proving a lot this season, and they are very happy, which is exactly what we want.”
