AC Milan secured yet another comeback win last night as Santiago Gimenez and Christian Pulisic turned the game around. As highlighted by a report, they are now just three points behind Atletico Madrid.
Since the arrival of Sergio Conceicao, as highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan have gone on to clinch 19 points from losing positions. In total, they have 22 points in that sense this season, which goes to show how the Portuguese manager has been able to add grit.
Only Atletico Madrid have gained more points from losing positions in the top-five leagues, currently at 23 points, so one point more. It’s no surprise that it’s them given that their head coach, Diego Simeone, is similar to Conceicao in many ways.
Of course, it would have been better for Milan to start the games well as they haven’t always been able to overturn the deficits this season. On Wednesday, as they will face Bologna in the Coppa Italia final, they will surely be looking to get the first goal instead.
It remains to be seen if Santiago Gimenez will get the chance from start after the brace, but a report is suggesting that Conceicao has already decided to start Luka Jovic. The latter has a bit more experience and also scored the brace against Inter in the semi-final.
