The AC Milan management are hoping that momentum will build in view of next week’s Coppa Italia final, but there is a job to do in the league first.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), over 70,000 spectators are expected at San Siro for Milan-Bologna tonight. The threshold will be exceeded for the 14th time in 18 home games for the Rossoneri in Serie A.
Who knows if Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was absent from the last away game against Genoa on Monday night, will also return to the stadium. The senior advisor of RedBird, together with the technical director Geoffrey Moncada, was at Milanello yesterday to be close to the team and watch training.
In tonight’s match, the Milan and Bologna players will carry their mothers’ surnames on their shoulders, in homage to Mother’s Day on Sunday. The Rossoneri will also remember the anniversary with videos on the big screens and a fundraiser for young mothers.
The head coach Sergio Conceicao did a very emotional interview with Milan TV regarding his late mother, who passed away when he was 18, talking about the memories that he has with her and why everyone who still has a mum should feel rich every day.
