Georgia Stanway close to completing Arsenal switch | OneFootball

Georgia Stanway is close to completing her move to Arsenal on a free transfer according to reports.

The England international midfielder is out of contract in the summer after four years in Germany with Bayern München and is now set to return to the WSL to join the Gunners.

The Cumbrian initially came through the academy at Blackburn Rovers where she made her senior debut before her move to Manchester City.

Stanway went on to win the WSL, three FA Cups, and three League Cups with the Citizens before lifting the Frauen-Bundesliga title in each of her four campaigns with Bayern.

According to Tom Garry of The Guardian, Stanway is now expected to complete her move to Arsenal – one that had been rumoured for much of the season. All that remains is for the 27-year-old to complete a medical for the move is finalised.

Stanway played 40 times for the Bavarian side this season in all competitions, chipping in with nine goals and 11 assists.
