Georgiy Sudakov has shared a cryptic, faith-led message on social media as he bids to return from injury before Benfica’s Clássico against Porto at the Luz on Sunday.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Ukraine international used Instagram to say he was praying and placing his life in God’s hands during a difficult spell.

He thanked God whether things work out or not and said he trusts whatever happens.

He added that he would give his best and leave the rest to God, noting that God is patient and that His plans are not rushed.

Sudakov has not featured for four matches, missing Real Madrid, the home game with AFS and the trip to Gil Vicente, as he works back to fitness.

This season for Benfica, valued at 30 million euros, he has played 33 competitive fixtures, 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic, nine in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal and two in the Taça da Liga. He has logged 2,268 minutes, scoring four and assisting five, and wears the number 10 shirt.
