Germany left it late to beat Ghana 2-1 in Stuttgart, Deniz Undav striking an 88th-minute winner at the MHP Arena. Kai Havertz had earlier put the hosts ahead from the spot, before Abdul Fatawu levelled after the break.
Florian Wirtz saw a tidy finish ruled out for offside against Nick Woltemade, and Havertz clipped the post from a free-kick before converting his penalty. Ghana equalised when Derrick Köhn burst past Josha Vagnoman to set up Abdul Fatawu, then Leroy Sané teed up Undav for the decisive touch. According to BuLi News, these were the Germany player ratings.
Alexander Nübel 5/10 after a quiet night. Joshua Kimmich 7 for control and a key clearance, Jonathan Tah 7 before a half-time switch, Nico Schlotterbeck 6 with an important block and a booking, Nathaniel Brown 7 on a composed full debut.
Angelo Stiller 6, his shot led to the penalty, Pascal Groß 5, and Wirtz 6.5, lively between the lines. Woltemade 4 after missed chances and the post, Serge Gnabry 5, and Havertz 7, cool from the spot.
At the break came Lennart Karl 6 and Undav 6.5, with Undav prodding the winner and Karl later squandering a clear chance. Antonio Rüdiger 5 also entered. On 60 minutes Leon Goretzka 6, Chris Führich 5.5, David Raum 6 and Vagnoman 3 arrived, before Sané 6 on 78 supplied the match-winning assist. Goretzka also threaded a key pass before the winner.
