An enormous offer will change everything for Liverpool. Where does Richard Hughes go from here?
The transfer window is now open - and has been for around a week now - though, things haven't gotten crazy. Yet, anyway.
But Liverpool will have to make some moves. The Reds' season hasn't gone to plan at all, really, and the enormous summer spend simply hasn't delivered the all-conquering squad that they hoped for.
If anything, they've gone backwards. It simply hasn't been good enough in any area and more deals are necessary if Liverpool are to revitalise this squad.
That's certainly how it feels, anyway. Liverpool are just lacking too much in a few key areas, notably on the wing where they sold Luis Diaz and didn't replace him.
This squad is incredibly short on pace, too, and that's something you'd hope a winger could bring. Attempts to sign Antoine Semenyo have fallen flat, however, forcing Liverpool to consider an alternative.
But things are far from straightforward there, either.
Africa Foot claims Manchester United have offered around €90m to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. The winger has been an absolute revelation since moving there in the summer, quickly establishing himself as one of the best young wingers in Europe.
And that's after only breaking into the setup at Leganes around a year ago. Diomande is wildly inexperienced - but his quality makes up for that.
However, this isn't good news for Liverpool. Diomande is one of the best options available for the Reds as they search for a new winger.
