Gila on Milan first impressions: ‘Like I’ve found home’ | OneFootball

Mario Gila has revealed his excitement after making a positive start to life at Milan, admitting he already feels comfortable inside the Rossoneri environment after his first week of work at Milanello.

Speaking during an event with supporters at the Milan store on Via Dante, with quotes via MilanNews.it, the former Lazio defender shared his first impressions of the club and praised the atmosphere created by his new teammates and staff.

“I’m very happy. I had already shared some of my impressions of what Milan means during my welcome interview. Since I arrived, from a football perspective, I have felt very good,” Gila said.

“The group is very good, it feels like a family. The staff, the kit managers and the medical team have all made me feel welcome. My teammates are very good and I’m very happy to be part of a team like this.”

The summer signing has quickly adapted to his new surroundings as Milan begin preparations for an important season following two disappointing campaigns. The Rossoneri are looking to begin a new chapter under their latest project, with defensive reinforcements considered a key priority.

Gila also explained that he has enjoyed his first experiences of Milan away from the training ground, despite spending most of his time focused on pre-season preparations.

“In the city I feel good. It’s true that I haven’t experienced it too much yet because I have been at Milanello, but in the few free days I have had I have felt very comfortable and relaxed. Now I have practically found a home. I want to experience it and make it feel like mine.”

The defender’s early comments underline the importance Milan place on creating a strong team identity as they look to rebuild confidence and challenge for major honours once again. For Gila, the priority now is continuing to integrate while preparing for what promises to be a crucial campaign at San Siro.
