Billy Gilmour is not expected to feature for Napoli until the new year and is reportedly considering surgery to amend an issue with his groin, adding to an injury list that already includes Kevin De Bruyne and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
Gilmour has been out of action since the beginning of November after picking up an injury during a 0-0 draw with Como at the Stadio Sinigaglia. Antonio Conte told the press that this was not a muscular injury, rather an inflammation issue.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Gilmour has recently seen a specialist in the UK, and it is understood that the Scotland international is now considering surgery to fix the issue.

According to Thursday’s reports, if Gilmour does elect to go under the knife, he would be ruled out for a further six weeks, or around 45 days. If that is the case, Gilmour will have missed around 10 weeks of action as a result of the injury.
Conte’s options in midfield have already taken a hit following hamstring injuries to De Bruyne and Anguissa, both of whom have faced or are facing several months on the sidelines and are not expected to return before the new year.
