Napoli director Giovanni Manna says Frank Anguissa is not for sale this summer, despite renewed links to Sunderland.

Il Mattino reports that the midfielder will meet head coach Max Allegri to assess whether he is surplus to requirements at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. If he can leave, Sunderland and clubs from Türkiye could look to act.

The report adds that intermediaries have already alerted Napoli to the Black Cats’ interest in the 30-year-old, who is valued at about £12.8 million. It also suggests Sunderland would be unwilling to pay that figure and would wait for a discount.

Speaking last week, Manna said Napoli will not weaken the squad, noted Anguissa is under contract and sees no reason to negotiate, and added the midfielder is not for sale.

Anguissa’s deal in Italy runs until summer 2027, giving Napoli scope to keep him should Allegri opt to retain his services.
