Borussia Mönchengladbach look increasingly likely to sign another Japanese player, according to Sky Germany.

The Rhineland club has reportedly reached a complete agreement with Slavia Prague for the transfer of Daiki Hashioka.

A twelve-time Japanese international, Hashioka is initially expected to join Borussia Mönchengladbach on a one-year loan.

The Foals appear to have secured an option to buy him permanently, with his medical examination is scheduled for today, Thursday.

Hashioka's signing appears to be a reaction to the weeks-long absence of new right-back Yukhym Konoplya.

The Ukrainian, who joined on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in July, suffered a torn medial collateral ligament last week.

Konoplya will likely miss the start of the Bundesliga season against RB Leipzig given the severity of the injury.
