With the first ‘double double’ in the club’s history, FC Bayern Munich capped a season in which the men’s and women’s team achieved great successes in lockstep. Because as well as the league titles and national cups, the teams of Vincent Kompany and José Barcala both made a major mark at European level, reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. On behalf of the two professional teams, Serge Gnaby, Jovana Damnjanović and Pernille Harder presented the two Meisterschale trophies and DFB Cups at the FC Bayern Museum on Tuesday – together on one stage for the first time.

“We’ve been waiting a long time for the double, and this year we were finally able to pull it off again,” Gnabry reflected during the presentation. “We’ve played some great games this season, both domestically and internationally, and scored a lot of goals. Since I missed the last few games due to injury, handing over the trophies here at the FC Bayern Museum is a wonderful way to wrap things up for me.”

The women’s team can also be proud of an outstanding season. “Winning two doubles in two consecutive years is simply fantastic for us,” summarised Danish forward Harder. “This streak makes us proud and is proof of the meticulous and hard work the entire team puts in every day.” And her fellow striker Damnjanović added: “We were able to take another step forward in our development last season. Not only did we defend the Supercup, the DFB Cup and the league title, but we also reaffirmed our status as one of Europe’s top teams in the Champions League – and we did it with a new coach. We’ll continue in the same vein next season.”

Double double moves into FC Bayern Museum

For the first time in the club's 126-year history, FC Bayern's men's and women's team both achieved the league and cup double this year. Such a historic moment obviously deserves a place in the club museum - Jovana Damnjanović, Pernille Harder and Serge Gnabry had the task of bringing the trophies to the museum.

On top from start to finish with goal record

Kompany’s men can reflect on an exceptional Bundesliga campaign. With a storming 6-0 win in the opening match against RB Leipzig, Bayern seized top spot in the table from the beginning – and never let it go. Their tireless attacking drive saw FCB smash their own record of 101 goals in a single Bundesliga season after over 50 years. With 122 goals and an average of nearly 3.6 per game, Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Diaz & Co set a historic benchmark.

The success in the cup was also hugely significant. With the 21st cup triumph and 14th domestic double in the club’s history, Bayern ended a six-year barren spell in the competition. The Reds really stepped it up in the latter rounds, with wins over Leipzig (2-0), Leverkusen (2-0) and against Stuttgart (3-0) in the final making an impressive statement.

Unbeaten on way to second straight double

FCB Women enjoyed a similarly impressive season. With 24 wins and just two draws in the league, the Munich girls completed an almost perfect campaign – and were rewarded with a fourth successive championship. The 90 goals scored, nine conceded and 16-point lead over runners-up VfL Wolfsburg illustrate Bayern’s domestic domination. This was also reflected in the DFB Cup, which the team clinched with five comfortable wins – including a 4-0 victory in the final against Wolfsburg – and not a single goal conceded.

Going forward, the new trophies will be displayed on the ‘Via Triumphalis’ in both the men’s and women’s areas as part of the permanent exhibition.

FC Bayern will contest the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup 2026 on 22 August in Dortmund:
