A third straight win will be on the agenda when RB Leipzig take on a struggling Borussia Mönchengladbach side on Saturday at 15:30 CEST, with the hosts ready to demonstrate their hunger for goals at the Red Bull Arena once again.
Read on for all the key stats and facts.
RB Leipzig have made a steady climb up the Bundesliga standings over the past few weeks. After matchday 23, we sat fifth, five points off third-placed TSG Hoffenheim. Following four wins in five games, we have leaped up to spot number three in the table, a full three points ahead of the team from Sinsheim. We have also overtaken VfB Stuttgart thanks to our superior goal difference.
Across the last five rounds of fixtures, only FC Bayern München have picked up more points (13) than the Red Bulls (12). On top of that, we now have more points on the board (53) than we did come the end of last season (51), when we ultimately missed out on qualifying for European competition. In light of our 14-point lead over seventh place, it is already almost certain that we will be playing on the continent again next year – the specific competition is all that remains to be decided.

Meanwhile, our visitors sit in a rather more precarious position. With just a five-point gap to 16th place – the relegation play-off spot – survival is not yet guaranteed for the Foals. Borussia Mönchengladbach have won just three of their previous 15 Bundesliga matches. In fact, head coach Eugen Polanski’s side have gone eight matches without victory, marking Gladbach’s longest winless run since a period of 10 games between October 2023 and March 2024.
Borussia have now gone four months without an away win, their last coming in early December in Mainz (1–0). A major problem is their defensive frailty on the road, with Gladbach conceding 18 goals away from home already so far in 2026 – only second-from-bottom side VfL Wolfsburg have conceded more (25).

It will therefore not come as good news to our upcoming visitors that RB Leipzig are particularly hungry for goals on their own patch. A 5-0 win over TSG Hoffenheim in the previous home fixture went to show just that. Interesting to note that, in each of our last 26 Bundesliga matches in front of our home fans, our team has scored at least once – an ongoing club record. The last time we failed to score at home was on 9th November 2024, when we drew 0–0 with... Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Our 34 goals across 14 home games this season is the second-best tally in the division, with only table-toppers FC Bayern München having scored more (56). This attacking prowess may well make the difference on Saturday.

It will be a special game for Rocco Reitz, who will join RB Leipzig from Borussia Mönchengladbach at the start of next season. However, on Saturday, he will lead out the Foals as captain, and try to draw on his passionate style of play to turn the game in the favour of Borussia.
Mönchengladbach possess a real gem in attack. Wael Mohya recently scored his second Bundesliga goal at the age of just 17 years and 94 days – only Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko was younger when he scored his second (16 years, 78 days). Mohya is in a rich vein of form, having scored two goals across the last three games, requiring just three shots on target to do so.
Although central striker Haris Tabakovic began last weekend's game on the bench, he injected some life into the match following his substitution against Heidenheim. He is likely to feature from the off once again this weekend. The player, on loan from TSG Hoffenheim, has already scored 11 goals for the season, while no other Gladbach player has managed more than four.

RBL are catching the eye not only for their efficiency regarding converting big chances but also for creating a particularly large number of them. We have already racked up 99 big chances so far this term, which is the third-highest tally in the league behind FC Bayern (135) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (102).
In terms of challenges, no other team stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Red Bulls. We compete in more duels more than any other side – 202 per game, on average. What’s perhaps even more impressive is that we’re also the fairest team in the league. We are the only club to have not picked up a single red card and have also been shown the fewest yellow cards in the division (40).
