Arsenal pair were key members of England’s successful title defence in Switzerland
Michelle Agyemang and Leah Williamson have been honoured at the 2025 Golden Boy awards.
The two Lionesses, who played crucial roles in England’s successful European Championships defence this summer, were awarded the ‘Golden Girl’ and ‘Golden Player Woman’ prizes.
In winning her award, Agyemang fended off competition from the likes of Chelsea’s Wieke Kaptein and Manchester City’s Iman Beney.
Agyemang played four times at the Euros, scoring twice, with both her goals coming in the dying embers of both the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
The Arsenal striker, 19, struck in the 81st minute against Sweden to force extra time in the last eight, before netting in the sixth minute of additional time against Italy in the semi-finals to book the Lionesses’ place in the showpiece finale against Spain.
Arsenal defender Williamson captained Sarina Wiegman’s side, and was an ever-present in the starting lineup.
From a club perspective, Williamson played 19 games in the Women’s Super League as the Gunners finished second behind Chelsea, but Renee Slegers’ side lifted the Champions League in May, beating Barcelona 1-0 in Lisbon thanks to Stina Blackstenius’ goal.
Agyemang spent the campaign on loan at Brighton - where she returned in the summer on another temporary deal - scoring five goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
Both Agyemang and Williamson have seen their 2025-26 campaigns blighted by injury, with the former ruled out for the season with a torn ACL, while Williamson had a knee issue of her own, which ruled her out for several weeks.
On the men’s side, Paris Saint-Germain forward Desire Doue scooped the top prize, being named the 2025 Golden Boy after a breakthrough season that saw Paris claim a maiden Champions League trophy.
The late Liverpool forward Diogo Jota was also honoured with the ‘Golden Player Man’ award.
