Gonçalo Moreira strengthened his case for a Benfica first-team call-up with a goal and an assist for the B side. According to Glorioso 1904, the 20-year-old is pressing for minutes under José Mourinho.

He replaced João Rego on 63 minutes and needed seven minutes to make his mark in a 3-0 win over Feirense. Dropping deep to collect from the back line, he drove forward, exchanged passes with Daniel Banjaqui and finished across Francisco Meixedo from the right.

In the closing stages, the Youth League’s record scorer took a pass after Miguel Figueiredo’s surge, spun and laid off for Tiago Freitas to score. It was his sixth assist for the B team this season.

Benfica B started with seven players who regularly train under Mourinho, and Moreira continues to climb the ranks. Mourinho has previously admitted a soft spot for the playmaker, who was on the bench against Gil Vicente on 26 September 2025.

This season Moreira, valued at 1.2 million euros, has played 31 official matches, 20 in the Segunda Liga, seven in the UEFA Youth League, three in the Premier League International Cup and one in the Liga Revelação. Across 1,950 minutes he has 17 goals and 10 assists.
