FC Bayern are thinking about the time after Leon Goretzka, as the 30-year-old probably no longer has a future at the record champions. One player is now apparently high on the bosses‘ list
In the internal ranking, Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic and midfield talent Tom Bischof are currently ahead of Goretzka, with Bayern looking to younger solutions for the role behind them
There are several talented players within the club who should be brought in in the medium term, including Javier Fernandez, David Santos Daiber and Noel Aseko, who is currently impressing at Hannover 96 in the second division
Nevertheless, the Bayern bosses are apparently also scouring the transfer market – specifically for a young, promising midfielder who can play a bigger role in the future
Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion is considered interesting from a sporting point of view, but with a possible transfer fee of around 80 million euros, he is hardly feasible. He has since been removed from the transfer list
Munich are much more concretely interested in two younger alternatives: Nathan De Cat from RSC Anderlecht and Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha BSC
According to the Munich newspaper tz, Eichhorn in particular is currently very popular with FC Bayern. The German U17 international still has a contract with Hertha BSC until 2027, which reportedly includes a transfer fee of around 12.5 million euros. However, according to the report, Munich are prepared to go much further: a total package of transfer fee, salary and possible bonuses of up to 25 million euros is apparently on the table for the 16-year-old

At the same time, it is becoming increasingly clear that Goretzka’s time at the record champions is coming to an end. Those responsible were already looking to sell him last summer, when Goretzka made a conscious decision to compete. He is now said to be looking for alternatives, with Atlético Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Fenerbahce Istanbul among the possible destinations
Regardless of the exact timing of his departure, the direction is clear: FC Bayern is already planning the midfield of the future – and with Kennet Eichhorn, one name is moving more into the focus of Bayern bosses.
