The 2024/25 season was always going to be difficult for the Canaries as they entered a new era over the summer, with Johannes Hoff Thorup arriving as Manager. On top of that, they lost some very key individuals from last season, with the likes of Gabriel Sara and Jon Rowe earning big moves away in Europe.

As a result of these changes at the club, Norwich have sat around the mid-table area for most of the first half of this season as they have struggled to find consistent form.

It is often tough to predict which Norwich is going to turn up, as they are one of the highest scorers in the division, but are also prone to some very bad results.

The January transfer window is finally here, which will allow Thorup the opportunity to fine-tune his squad and bring in new additions. Today, FLW looks at the five Norwich players who could depart the club this winter.

Grant Hanley

Grant Hanley has been on the books at Carrow Road for seven and a half years now, but with his game time being limited this season, his departure feels impending.

The club captain has spent almost the entire season on the bench so far for Norwich, and his boss, Johannes Hoff Thorup, has suggested that he will not get in the way of Hanley's departure in January, despite wishing to keep hold of him, as his contract expires in the summer.

Christian Fassnacht

Christian Fassnacht is another player whose contract expires in the summer and has hardly featured for the Canaries this season. The winger has spent the majority of the season on the sidelines through injury, and as a result, his future at the club is up in the air.

Last season, Fassnacht contributed to eight goals in the Championship, so he will be a slight miss, but at the age of 31, Norwich can look to replace him.

Tony Springett

Now at the age of 22, Tony Springett will be looking for regular mens football sooner or later, but he is not getting it at Carrow Road as things stand.

The winger has made a couple of appearances on the bench for Norwich this season but is yet to really break into Thorup's team. With his contract expiring in the summer, the club may look to sell him in January or loan him out and offer him one last chance to impress.

Jaden Warner

It is a similar scenario for fellow 22-year-old Jaden Warner, whose only appearance for Norwich this season came in the EFL Cup against Stevenage. The defender's contract also expires in the summer, so, like Springett, could be given an early departure in the winter.

Warner made 10 appearances in League Two last season for Notts County, so may wish for one more loan opportunity in the second half of this season.

Kaide Gordon

Kaide Gordon signed for Norwich in the summer on loan from Liverpool, but has failed to really make the impact that was expected of him. The vast majority of his appearances this campaign have been short cameos off the bench, so Thorup may see no use for him going into the second half of the campaign.

The youngster's loan deal lasts until the end of the season, but cancelling his loan in the winter could free up space for a new addition.
