Grêmio arrive in form to face Corinthians, no new absentees

On the afternoon of this Sunday, November 2nd, Corinthians hosts Grêmio for the 31st round of the Brasileirão. The ball will roll on the pitch of the Neo Química Arena, starting at 4 PM (Brasília time), in a direct clash with both teams fighting to appear at the top of the table.

For this duel, the team led by Dorival Júnior will have to pay attention to some aspects of the gaucho club. For the first time in four months, Grêmio's coach, Mano Menezes, has the opportunity to repeat a lineup – that is, use the same players from the victory against Juventude.

Thus, the tricolor team has no recent absences. The losses are already known and come from previous rounds: Balbuena (fracture in the right ankle), Braithwaite (Achilles tendon surgery on the left foot), João Pedro (thrombosis in the right shoulder), Marcos Rocha (muscle injury in the left thigh), Rodrigo Ely (left knee surgery), Villasanti (left knee injury), Willian (fracture in the right foot).

Among the possible starters, only one player has a history with Corinthians: Edenílson, who was a Libertadores champion at Parque São Jorge. After stints at Internacional and Atlético-MG, he now defends Grêmio and is subject to the 'law of the ex', when a player scores against his former club.

As mentioned, it is a direct confrontation, as both clubs have 39 points and the same number of victories. The winner can climb the table, depending on the result between São Paulo and Vasco da Gama, who are in ninth and eighth place, respectively.
