Grêmio ‘make move’ for Flamengo midfielder Évertton Araújo

Grêmio, following Luis Castro’s assessments, have begun mapping the market, with a midfielder identified as a priority.

According to Coluna do Fla, the first target sits outside the profile the club have followed in recent years, and Grêmio have moved for Flamengo midfielder Évertton Araújo.

The offer is worth five million euros, roughly R$ 32.1 million at current rates. Flamengo hold 70 percent of his economic rights, with Volta Redonda owning the remaining 30 percent.

Grêmio are interested due to his potential impact and possible future resale value, but a deal is viewed as difficult given the likelihood of overseas interest.

Évertton Araújo, 22, has been in Flamengo’s first-team squad since 2024. His contract runs until December 2028. He has made 36 appearances this season, scoring once.
