Pep Guardiola says the injury suffered by Savinho in the goalless draw with Sunderland “doesn’t look good”.
The winger was forced off in the second half as City failed to find a way past the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.
Nico Gonzalez also had to be taken off at half-time, and asked about the duo, Guardiola said: “Savinho, it doesn’t look good, I would say.
“And Nico, we’ll see.”
Rodri made his return to action, following his latest injury setback, off the bench for City, replacing Gonzalez at the break.
And Guardiola says his performance showed how much his side have missed him.
“He changed the game,” he said. “He proved in 45 minutes that in that position, he’s the best.
“We struggled in the first half but with Rodri we struggle less. We broke the lines and were more fluid.
“One year we had without him. We missed him a lot. Hopefully he can stay (fit) because he makes us a better team.”
Despite the failure to beat Sunderland, Guardiola said he was pleased with his team’s performance.
“We just missed to score a goal in the six-yard box,” he said. “We have many there, good actions, against a fantastic team.
“I’m so proud and delighted with the way we played.”
