Leeds United defender Gabriel Gudmundsson has been named in the Sweden squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Switzerland.
The 26-year-old has earned 17 caps for his country, featuring most recently in September’s fixtures against Kosovo and Slovenia.
Gudmundsson, who joined Leeds from Lille in the summer, has quickly established himself as a key figure at Elland Road. He has played every minute of the club’s six Premier League games so far this season, impressing supporters with his energy and consistency at left-back.
Sweden face Switzerland at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on Friday, 10 October (19:45 BST), before hosting Kosovo at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg a few days later on Monday, 13 October (19:45 BST).
Gudmundsson will be aiming to help Sweden strengthen their position in Group B as they push for a place at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
