Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario will undergo hernia surgery next week and will be out for several weeks. He will begin rehabilitation immediately afterwards, with a target of around one month for a return.

The club said in a statement that the minor procedure has been scheduled to minimise its impact on their season.

Vicario has missed very few matches this season. Supporters still recall the last time another keeper started. In the Champions League last 16 first leg at Atlético Madrid, a 2-5 defeat, Igor Tudor selected Antonin Kinsky.

The Czech conceded three goals before being substituted on 17 minutes, and Tottenham were later eliminated. Kinsky could now return to Tudor's starting XI while Vicario recovers.

In a Premier League crisis, Randal Kolo Muani's team-mates host Nottingham Forest on Sunday at 15:15.
