Betis and Villarreal are tracking Guido Rodríguez, creating real competition for Valencia, who want to extend his deal before he becomes a free agent on one July.
In late January, after complex talks, Ron Gourlay and Carlos Corberán agreed a deal to 30 June following a settlement with West Ham. Since then he has impressed in LaLiga and feels settled with his family.
Asked at Paterna on his 32nd birthday, he said: "The most important thing is to finish the season well, enjoy and win the games that remain. That is what I am thinking about now," he told El Chiringuito.
For now his future is undecided. He is focused on the final seven LaLiga 25/26 matches, against Mallorca, Girona, Atlético, Athletic Club, Rayo, Real Sociedad and Barcelona.
Valencia are pushing to keep him, while Villarreal and Betis view him as a summer midfield option. A long deal is seen as Valencia’s main card given his age.
At Villarreal, Pape Gueye’s form has drawn Premier League interest, while Dani Parejo is negotiating a renewal. Two years after his Betis exit, both clubs are monitoring Guido after a Premier stint of 170 minutes in 23 matches under Nuno Espírito Santo.
At Betis the futures of Marc Roca, Nelson De Ossa, Sergi Altimira and Amrabat are uncertain. They will try to keep the Morocco international on loan from Fenerbahçe, and Altimira is on Sporting’s radar and attracting Premier League and Bundesliga interest.
