According to ESPN, Guillermo Almada is said to have asked Club América to pursue several signings, notably Nelson Deossa and Federico Viñas.

Almada has been working with the squad for more than a week ahead of his first season in charge. One of his initial moves was to leave six players out of the group.

Deossa, a midfielder, impressed under Almada at Pachuca, which earned him a move to Real Betis.

His spell at Betis has not met expectations and the Spanish club have listed him for transfer. The main obstacle is a fee of around 10 million dollars, a figure that could deter América.

Viñas, formerly of América, excelled for Almada at Real Oviedo and has now returned to León after his loan expired.

Although his price is not high, two issues complicate a deal. After leaving Oviedo he criticised Almada, saying he could understand the coach’s dismissal because the dressing room was difficult, and he has interest from clubs in Spain and Germany.
