Guimarães nominated for October's EA Sports Player of the Month award

The Magpies skipper has been in strong form this month, opening the scoring in Newcastle's 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest at St. James' Park following a terrific curling strike from distance.

The Brazilian midfielder ended up on the losing side during a 2-1 defeat away at Brighton & Hove Albion but netted a 90th minute winner after beating Fulham by the same scoreline last weekend.

Nominated alongside Guimarães for the award are Matty Cash of Aston Villa, Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Junior Kroupi of AFC Bournemouth, Manchester United's Bryan Mbeumo, Nordi Mukiele of Sunderland, Brentford's Igor Thiago and Arsenal's Jurrien Timber.
