Gustavo Martins suffers grade-one muscle injury, sidelined for 10-15 days | OneFootball

Gustavo Martins has sustained a grade-one muscle injury and will be sidelined for 10 to 15 days, according to Globo.com.

The Grêmio centre-back finished the 1-1 draw with Bragantino at the Arena heavily fatigued and now misses upcoming matches.

Head coach Luís Castro faces another absentee for Monday's trip to Chapecoense at Arena Condá, with Martins joining midfielder Arthur on the sidelines.

The 24-year-old had been establishing himself under Castro but is likely to miss Grêmio's next three Brasileiro fixtures before the FIFA window. After Chapecoense, the Tricolor host Bahia on Thursday 19 then visit Vasco on Sunday 22.

Castro noted post-match that the defender was limited physically, which played a part in late defensive problems.

Martins has struggled to put a run together at Grêmio due to injuries. In 2025 he missed more than a month with a knee issue, and a separate thigh muscle injury sidelined him for another 45 days.
