Following a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League, FC Barcelona are set to return to La Liga action as they prepare to face Sevilla FC.
The Blaugranes currently hold a four-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table and will be aiming to at least maintain that advantage heading into matchday 28, which coincides with the club’s presidential election day.
The Catalans continue to deal with several important absences for this game. Players such as Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde, and Andreas Christensen remain unavailable, limiting the options for Hansi Flick ahead of a crucial league fixture.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, there was some positive news in Friday’s training session as both Eric Garcia and Lamine Yamal returned to training with the rest of the squad.
The 25-year-old defender had been dealing with a muscle overload that kept him out of the recent European clash, while the 18-year-old winger had been suffering from general discomfort earlier in the week.
Their absence had raised some concern within the club, especially in the case of Yamal, who had even missed a team dinner organized by Ronald Araujo earlier in the week. However, the young superstar has now fully rejoined group training.
Barcelona squad had been given a day off earlier in the week after the draw against Newcastle, allowing them to recover both physically and mentally before resuming preparations for the Sevilla match.
With both Eric and Yamal now training normally, Hansi Flick has received a much-needed boost ahead of an important La Liga encounter.
