While it is true that Robert Lewandowski remains a top striker even today, Barcelona must still look ahead to the future. After all, at 36 years of age, the Polish ace is hardly in his prime and might not be able to play at such a high level for much longer. Moreover, it appears that Hansi Flick may already have his eye on a potential successor.

Nick Woltemade, as highlighted by Fichajes, is a name that Flick has recommended to Barça as a possible target for next summer to arrive as Lewandowski’s replacement. The 23-year-old German striker, currently playing for Bundesliga side Stuttgart, is someone who has a profile that Flick seems to value a lot as well.

Possessing great technical ability and physical prowess, he offers a unique blend of qualities that can be really important for a centre-forward playing for Barça.

Moreover, Hansi Flick reportedly sees the €30 million-rated striker, as per his Transfermarkt valuation, as a great addition to a frontline that already has dynamic players such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

Moreover, if Barça were to pursue his signing next summer, they would want him to also play alongside Robert Lewandowski for a while. After all, the knowledge and experience that the Polish ace would impart on the young German striker could prove to be invaluable.

The Price Tag Dilemma

However, the main hurdle does not seem to be convincing Woltemade, but rather his club. After all, the reported price tag of €70 million that has been set as the asking price for him by Stuttgart was apparently the reason that even Bayern Munich backed out from a potential deal.

Yet, Barça believe that Hansi Flick’s involvement and the interest of the coaching staff could help them in this deal. As long as the operations fit within the club’s financial capabilities and limits, it is a signing that could seriously be considered in 2026.

For now, this report claims that if the club decides to go after Woltemade, they might just try to negotiate the transfer in the coming months rather than waiting. The reason for this, as per the report, would be to ensure that the price tag does not significantly increase by next summer.

However, Woltemade is only the latest striker to be linked with Barça in reports about potential signings for next summer. The likes of Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland have been linked to the club previously, so it seems safe to assume that a new top centre-forward might just be Barça’s priority in the summer of next year.
