Barcelona are hoping to return to winning ways on Sunday as they return to La Liga action with a trip to Sevilla. The Catalans went top of the standings after last weekend’s victory over Real Sociedad, and they will hope to remain there going into the international break.

As per Diario AS, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick gave his thoughts on the upcoming match at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

“We know Sevilla well, they play aggressively and intensely, they have their own style and a good fan base behind them. It will be difficult. The match in Seville is very important, and we want to take the three points. Everyone is sad after the defeat (to PSG). We have to be smarter and we have to learn what we will do.”

Flick: “We have to be a team”

In midweek, Barcelona lost for the first time this season as Paris Saint-Germain won 2-1 in Montjuic. Flick revealed how his side will seek to bounce back from that disappointment.

“We have to be a team, that was the success of last season. We are not only talking about the players, we are talking about everyone, the coaches, clubs and the fans. Everyone is hungry to win every title, this is what we want and it’s everyone’s involvement. I’m grateful for what I’ve seen after the last break, because the attitude has been positive and we’ve trained well. You can see that we believe. The defeat against PSG can happen, they are a fantastic team, but we have to continue.”

Flick moves on from Luis de la Fuente spat

Flick also issued a final response to Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente, who spoke on the Barcelona manager’s September comments regarding Lamine Yamal’s pubis injury, which became known after that international break.

“I don’t regret what I said. I wanted to protect my players, it was my way of saying that we should stop. That was my way of acting but as I said, it’s water under the bridge and now we have to focus on the present and the future. The important thing is to manage the situation together – the player, club and national team.”
