Hansi Flick sends message to Robert Lewandowski over anger with Barcelona substitution vs Rayo | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has spoken out on the frustration showcased by star striker Robert Lewandowski during the club’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.

Frontman Lewandowski of course proved himself match-winner once more on Monday night.

This came by way of the only goal of the evening, as Barcelona secured their place back atop the La Liga table courtesy of a hard-fought victory over the aforementioned Rayo.

And yet, late in the action in Catalunya’s capital, Lewandowski was left looking less than impressed.

After being hooked from proceedings inside the closing ten minutes to be replaced by Ferran Torres, the Pole could not hide his frustration on his way to the bench.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s latest three-point haul, the subject of Lewandowski’s anger was therefore put to boss Hansi Flick.

And the German tactician made use of the opportunity to lay down the law with both Lewandowski, and the rest of his squad:

“It’s normal for Lewandowski to get upset with the substitution because he wants to score goals, but the decision is mine. I make changes when I see fit, and they have to accept it.”
