Harry Kane made Bundesliga history on Saturday afternoon, becoming the first player in Germany’s top flight to convert all of his first 17 penalties, per Opta.
Kane opened the scoring against Hoffenheim with a superb strike before netting two penalties which takes his tally to eight goals in four Bundesliga games this season. The Englishman’s hat-trick is his ninth in the Bundesliga since joining Bayern Munich.
When asked about his penalty technique, the 32-year-old said (h/t: iMiaSanMia): “It’s not easy. People think it’s easy once the ball is in the back of the net. But I practice a lot and always try to improve my routine and technique. Whenever the ball is in the box I back myself to score, whether it’s a penalty or not.”
During DAZN’s coverage of Bayern Munich’s win over Hoffenheim, the Bayern forward was dubbed ‘Hat-trick Kane’ – when asked after the game about his new nickname, he added: “Hat-trick Harry is what they used to call me in school when I was younger.”
