The DFB Cup tie against RB Leipzig was exceptional for Harry Kane in February. Not because the Englishman opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 2-0 quarter-final victory – his sixth goal of the current cup campaign – but because it was the sole match last month in which he ‘only’ netted once. In each of the other games he scored twice – all of them in the Bundesliga. Only Lothar Emmerich in 1967 and Wolfsburg’s Tomislav Marić in 2001 had previously achieved that. “There are periods in a season when a lot of things fall at your feet and go your way, and that’s exactly what I’m in at the moment,” said the goal-getter after the 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund.
Nine goals in five competitive matches – it’s only logical that Kane has been named your FC Bayern Player of the Month for February.
Kane started his run of braces on 8 February in the home match against TSG Hoffenheim, providing the opening goal and the strike that made it 2-1 – both penalties – as well as setting up another. A week later, in the 3-0 victory at Werder Bremen, his first goal was also a penalty before he quickly made it a brace with his 26th goal of the campaign. In the narrow 3-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, he was responsible for Bayern's second goal with a header and the third with a left-footed shot. Finally, in the top-of-the-table clash at BVB, the striker’s two goals put his team 2-1 up from being a goal down. The second was another penalty, his tenth in the German top flight – only Paul Breitner in 1980/81 previously converted so many spot-kicks in one season. That was despite having just 13 touches of the ball in the first half in Dortmund.
Behind our number nine, who won by a clear margin with 41.5 percent of the votes, were Luis Díaz (25.3%) and Joshua Kimmich (7%). Kane is also now out in front in the overall ranking with his third monthly title of the season, having already claimed it in September and October 2025.
The Goal of the Month vote went to Joshua Kimmich:
