Thomas Tuchel reportedly prepared to leave experienced centre-back at home

Harry Maguire has been left ‘shocked’ amid reports he looks set to be left out of England’s World Cup squad.

The Manchester United centre-back has enjoyed an impressive campaign, but per reports from talkSPORT, is not set to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s tournament squad.

That squad will be officially confirmed tomorrow, Friday, May 22.

Maguire, 33, has made 22 Premier League appearances this campaign, keeping seven clean sheets in doing so.

After being informed of the decision, Maguire was reported by talkSPORT to have said: "I was confident I could have played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had.

"I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision. I wish the players all the best."
