Amadou Onana has praised compatriot Senne Lammens following his tremendous start to life at Manchester United.
The two started for Belgium on Saturday as they hammered the United States 5-2 in their World Cup preparation friendlies.

It marked Lammens’ second senior cap for his nation, which comes amid a lengthy injury layoff to their usual No.1, Thibaut Courtois.
Ahead of Belgium’s final fixture of the March international break against Mexico, Onana said of Lammens to The Athletic: “For Senne, the sky is the limit.
“He has every possible attribute to be one of the best ‘keepers of the future. His future is very bright. I think it depends on him, really.”
“His best quality is his calmness,” the Aston Villa ace continued. “He just inspires you as a player, because seeing him on the ball, how calm and quiet he is, composed, that helps the defence, helps the midfield, and helps the team.
“I’m very glad we have him. I’ve obviously been following his games at United. He’s doing brilliantly well, especially after he had people doubting him when he came in. I am very pleased for him.”
The 23-year-old has been a mainstay between the sticks for United ever since he made his debut in a home win over Sunderland on October 4.
It came in the aftermath of Andre Onana’s calamitous display away to Grimsby Town in the League Cup and a string of shoddy showings from Altay Bayindir, who had displaced Onana as Ruben Amorim’s first-choice at the start of the term.
When it became clear neither were trustworthy enough to depend on for the bulk of the campaign, Lammens was brought in on deadline day, and Onana was shipped out on loan to Trabzonspor just days later.
In the coming transfer window, it’s expected INEOS will facilitate the arrival of another shot-stopper to play backup to the young star, as both Bayindir and Onana will be sold permanently – much to the latter’s dismay.
Fans had been rallying for United to retain current loanee Radek Vitek next season, due to his eye-catching form with Bristol City. However, he recently spoke out to express his desire to play regular football wherever he plys his trade next, which is highly unlikely to be the case at Old Trafford.
