Bruno Fernandes can look a frustrated figure at Old Tarfford at times but his will to win and his constant desire to create chances for his teammates is never depleted.

The Portuguese star has arguably been one of the best signings in the post-Ferguson era with the captain keen to be part of the new Ineos project and bring success to Old Trafford.

Fernandes is always a threat for opponents with the Red Devils’ star roaming around the pitch trying to dictate and create attacks.

Former Liverpool player Danny  Murphy has praised Fernandes for his creativity and has backed him to be better than another creative star in the Premier League

Danny Murphy believes Bruno Fernandes has the edge over Martin Odegaard

The former Fulham midfielder Murphy has stated that it’s a close debate between Fernandes and Arsenal star Odegaard.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy said: “It’s just preference. Mine would depend on who else is in the team, that’s how close it is.

“For example, if you had Declan Rice and [Thomas] Partey behind Fernandes, I’d probably go Fernandes.

“I think Bruno will score you more goals, but Odegaard scores as well. Do you know what? I’d be happy with either.

“The one thing Odegaard gives you that Bruno doesn’t is better defensive work, Odegaard is better defensively than Bruno.

“So I think [Mikel] Arteta would pick Odegaard ahead of Bruno even if he had Bruno.

“But for me, I think Bruno has probably just about got the edge on creativity.

“I’m thinking I wouldn’t need his defensive work if I’ve got two brilliant holding midfielders if I played that way, but there’s not much in it.”
