Celtic find themselves 9 points behind Hearts in the title race at present, with this afternoon’s game against Aberdeen yet to be completed.

The Jambos beat theRangers 2-1 at Tynecastle to record another statement win. The result puts them in a commanding position in the league, but also keeps theRangers 3 point adrift of Celtic, with the Hoops having a chance to extend that gap this afternoon.

Upon completing today’s match, Celtic could have closed the gap on Hearts back to 6 with a game in hand so there is much to play for. Indeed, I personally believe a Jambo victory was in Celtic interests today because I anticipate that Hearts will be easier to catch than theRangers would be if they got in front in the title race. That said, all of this is irrelevant if Celtic don’t start picking up results themselves.

The Bhoys are currently level at 0-0 with Aberdeen on what is a must win game for the club.

This is a huge moment in the title race and the league is still there to be won for multiple clubs. If Celtic can string some victories together then they’ll feel that Hearts may struggle to last the pace when the pressure is on, but that’s something that the Hoops will need to make happen and fast.
