However, it was reported on Saturday night Saudi side Al-Nassr had come in for Felix, and they’ve now hijacked the deal for the attacking midfielder.

Joao Felix says yes to Al-Nassr

Chelsea have made three attacking signings in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, and are also said to be closing in on a deal for Xavi Simons.

Whilst incomings are important, Chelsea also have a number of players they need to move on, and Felix falls into that category.

The Portuguese arrived last summer for £45m from Atletico Madrid, but spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, and is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

It was thought the Blues could struggle to offload Felix given his disappointing season, but Romano has confirmed they’ve now managed to do just that.

He took to X.com and said:

“EXCLUSIVE: Al Nassr agree deal to sign João Félix from Chelsea, here we go!

Chelsea advancing on Xavi Simons deal

With Felix now gone, the Blues can step up their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons, with a deal said to be advancing for the 22-year-old.

Simons has reportedly said yes to Chelsea, and the Blues are believed to be in advanced talks with their German counterparts.

Leipzig are said to want a total package of £60m for Simons, who can play both on the left and as a number ten, making him a great fit for Enzo Maresca’s system.
