An exciting Liverpool target is likely heading to England according to a recent report.

This summer is shaping up to be one of the most crucial periods in the club's recent history. After a disappointing campaign that has already fallen short of expectations, the club cannot afford another season of stagnation.

Significant decisions must be made, not only to improve performances on the pitch but to reset the overall direction of the squad.

Despite investing around £450 million last summer, clear gaps still remain. Recruitment will once again be under the spotlight, as Liverpool look to address key problem areas, particularly in midfield and balancing the attacking depth.

Spending heavily in consecutive windows is never ideal, but the reality is that further reinforcements are essential if the team is to compete at the highest level again.

What makes this window even more challenging is the departure of two pillars of the team.

Replacing Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson is no small task. Salah has defined Liverpool’s attack for years, while Robertson’s energy and quality at left-back have been integral to the club's harmony on and off the pitch.

Finding players who can replicate even part of their influence will require smart, decisive recruitment.

Liverpool must get this summer right. The decisions made now will likely define their competitiveness for years to come, making this a truly pivotal moment for the club.

The first big decision of the summer is who the Reds are going to recruit on the wings. Arne Slot has yearned for more speed and directness in attack.

He needs a one vs one specialist who brings intensity and who will be able to play the style of football that Liverpool ideally want to play which requires pressing from the front and wing isolation to feed the forwards inside the box.

We haven't seen any of that sort of style of play this season. Slot's side have been devoid of looking like an exciting attacking team.

But things could be changing.

It looks like Bazoumana Toure is one player who Liverpool want to bring in.

What does the Ivorian excel in? Well let's just look at where he ranks for certain metrics among his fellow wingers in the Bundesliga:

- 1st for sprints (632)

- 1st for crosses (5.32 per 90)

- 1st for dribble success rate (69%)

- 2nd for PAdj interceptions (3.6 per 90)

- 3rd for possessions won in the final third (1 per 90)

You get the idea. He's exactly what Liverpool want and need.
