Corinthians will be without forward Vitinho for Sunday’s 14th-round trip to Mirassol at the Maião, kick-off 20:30. According to Meu Timao, the 32-year-old felt pain in his right hip during recent training and has been left out of the squad.

Vitinho had been earning minutes under Fernando Diniz after Kayke’s injury in the first half of the 1-0 win over Barra-SC at the Ressacada in the Copa do Brasil on 21 April. Since then he has alternated with Jesse Lingard, starting the 1-0 win against Vasco da Gama last Sunday, then named among the substitutes for the 2-0 victory over Peñarol in the Libertadores, both at the Neo Química Arena.

Diniz must also cope with multiple absences. Right-back Matheuzinho and centre-back Gustavo Henrique are suspended, while Hugo Farias and João Pedro Tchoca remain in the treatment room.

In midfield, André Luiz and André Carrillo are suspended and Charles is still recovering from a right heel injury. In attack, Memphis Depay has begun physical transition work but is not yet match fit, and Kayke has undergone left knee ACL reconstruction and is out for the season. Gui Negão, cut from Brazil Under-20 duty during the last FIFA window with a grade two right hamstring injury, is now recovered and could bolster the travelling squad.

Given the confirmed absences and uncertainty over Gui Negão, Jesse Lingard is likely to partner Yuri Alberto in the starting attack. Corinthians are 14th on 15 points, and a win could lift them to eighth depending on other results.
